  1. This puzzle has 5 different encodings.
  2. The encodings are Binary, Morse Code, Semaphore, Braille, and Ternary.
  3. The hint of "HEAR" is very important.
  4. What letter sounds could be given in each line? The first AYCH = H.
  5. When "heard" it says: An "H", Now "I", "G" Next, "H" again, "C" Lastly = HIGH C

Least of a Feast

  1. The word you start out with is BOATS, chopping removes the first letter.
  2. Start with BREADTH, trimming removes the last letter.
  3. Start with PIPETTES, straining removes all duplicate letters, which leaves you with PIETS, trimming gives you PIET, and trimming again gives you PIE.
  4. Start with ALMOND, trim to get ALMON, salting adds a S to the position indicated by number of teaspoons, so 1 adds to beginning - SALMON.
  5. Start with SUPER, add pepper adds a P to the position indicated by the teaspoons, so you get SUPPER.
  6. Start with SMUG, chop the S to get MUG, stirring swaps the first and last letters in the word to get GUM.
  7. Start with TIGER and ROT-22 to get PECAN.
  8. Start with HANDY, chilling changes something from Hot to Cold (H-C) which gets you CANDY.
  9. Start with FEED, boiling changes all vowels to O's to get FOOD.
  10. Start with ZITI, chop off to ITI, ROT-3 to LWL, Bread by wrapping DO around it (dough) to DLWLO, the ROT-15 to SALAD! (the solution file has a fuller explanaton of this.)
  11. Start with BLOND, chop to LOND, trim to LON, then stir to get NOL, mixing interweaves the letter of two words together, alternating letters. Mix NOL and ODE to get NOODLE.
  12. Note you will get nonsense until the final step. CHEESE will end at UOOCS before the final step and MELON will become IQAZ.

  1. The numbers on both sides of the clue answers are interestingly the same number as there are puzzle answers!
  2. The first clue answer - CHUG - take the C in answer 2 (GUACAMOLE) and connect to the G in answer 1 (HIGHC) and so on.
